Database City Sells Solutions

Database Application Software

The power of database applications cannot be overstated. Database City has done about 200 online database projects over 15 years, empowering as many companies. We have developed a deep understanding of the back-end platforms, tools, and technologies, and the underlying protocols of the Internet. Virtually every business can benefit from the power of well-designed, database enabled, web applications!

Portals, Sites, and Workflow Solutions

Database City has built online systems for international business opportunity matching, classified advertising, device tracking, e-commerce, educational testing, art galleries, social networking, association support, and many other interesting purposes. Many applications support multiple companies, multiple user types, and integrate with content management applications.

Building database applications to solve wide ranging business problems is our passion. Here are a few examples...

Medical Device Tracking Systems

EnPro Management

For EnPro Management, a distributor of defribillators, Database City built a medical device tracking system that alerted those in charge of replacing batteries, electrodes, and keeping up with training needs. This software allowed EnPro to become a master distributor for the manufacturer and increase sales over 10 fold in just a few years.

Educational Testing and Scoring Solutions

SureScore For SureScore, and educational consulting firm, Database City built an Assessment Management System which scores all kinds of standardized tests for school districts in several countries, and reports the results online. Database City also developed a program for SureScore that encourages kids to go to college. It's a good thang.

E-Commerce Solutions

Ray Troll

Ray Troll's humorous (and paleozoic) fish art hangs in the Smithsonian, and on our T-shirts. He sells a lot of memorable products depicting fishy lifestyles in Alaska, the Amazon, and elsewhere. We highly recommend you visit his site and buy a T-shirt, calendar, coffee mug or something. The site at www.trollart.com is where it starts. We did the site at store.trollart.com which is linked there under "Buy Stuff". The site is a highly modified X-cart implementation.

Global Gallery

Global Gallery is an online place to buy almost any art print that's ever been made. We built the first version of the shopping cart from scratch when owner Grant Henly was a mere college student. Now he's a rich art dealer. Drop ships everything, never touches a product. Too cool for school.

FiberArts

For the Texas Museum of Fiber Arts, Database City developed an X-cart based shopping cart system which they call the Gallery. This virtual museum is a non-profit organization supporting artists by providing them with a place to sell their art. Fiber Art has about 16 categories and the stuff is fun to look at.

SportsStoplights

Sports Stoplights are neon logos of sports teams that light up with your brake lights in your car's rear window. Database City built a prototype e-commerce site to show how the logo will be sold, so he can license the logos from universities and NASCAR teams. We'll let you know when they are ready to buy.

Association Web Sites

TVMA

For the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, Database City developed their primary web site, but has also worked over the years to help keep the site on the forefront of any such organization. We've set up content mangement, member search and articles management applications, podcasts, donations by credit card, and smooth integration with association management and accounting software that handles authentication.

Quote Builder Applications

FilmFleet

For FilmFleet, a movie production rental enterprise, Database City re-developed their primary web site, put their inventory in a database, and built a QuoteBuilder application that allows people to list their selections and receive a customized rental quote. This "easy shopping" feature is helping their business. Movie production crews can now find almost anything they may need from trucks and trailers to generators and picture vehicles. Need a two-banger or a cop car? This is the place.

Search Applications

ISEA

For Jeff Stull and the International Safety Equipment Association, Database City built a database system to hold all of the international standards for safety equipment. Now its easy to find out how thick the steel needs to be in your steel-toed boots if you sell them in Qatar.

Content Managed Web Sites

ICC

The Integrated Care Collaboration is a group that unites most of the large hospitals and health care organizations in Central Texas and seeks to help get people better access to health care. Database City has provided them with web site services for many years. We recently built the ICC a new content-managed web site based on Drupal, allowing them to update their site frequently to keep up with their many programs.

Iran Democracy Plan

Doing our part for world peace, Database City helped Bijan Afkami present the little known true Iran story and his vision of hope for its future in a Drupal based, content managed web site. Drupal is an open-source content management framework that makes it easy for Bijan to edit his own web site. We have also used Joomla and Contribute for such purposes.

Our Motto

Plan it right.

Do it right.

Fix it if it breaks.

Have fun.
